[1-01] Hollywood Holocaust

Small Ledge Push & Large Ledge Push (useless) (video)

Location
The opening roof top.
Requirements
A running and straffing start.
Description
The explosive tanks next to the ventalation fan must first be detonated or the top part of the vent shot through. This leaves a clean edge on the outer part where the ventalation shaft is now broken from it's original hood. Duke can be pushed outside of the fencing. This is worthless due to the way the level is layed out, the rest of the map is seperate, not below this area as level flow makes you believe.

Alternatively, this glitch can be performed on any of the ledges going around the upper roof using the Large Ledge Push glitch, as discovered by Fernito.

Warp (video)

Location
The secret room by the movie theatre's vertical sign.
Description
On the inside facing out, ducking and running into the seperator between the two windows from the left window ledge will cause you to warp into the arcade. The occurance rate seems to be best when Duke is closer to the inner corner.

Warp (video)

Location
Inside of the arcade.
Description
Inside of the arcade, there is a problem with the rotating light vector found on the ground which can be used to warp into the red secret room. Using a jet pack or with a well timed jump off of the top of one of the arcade machines into the ceiling in a region which is under a red room sector (using the map can assist in this if you have been inside of the red room) while a light vector on the floor is beneath Duke, Duke will be warped from the arcade and into the red secret room.

Switch through Door

Location
The secret door opened through the cash register at the concetion stand.
Description
While on the hidden elevator, the switch on the reverse side of the door can be pushed through the door it self. This requires Duke to be rather far off the left side of the elevator.

Sequence Break

Location
The secret room containing the steroids.
Description
Using the steroids from the secret room, Duke can jump from the window of the secret room, to the ledge on the adjacent building. Following the ledge towards the alley, and Duke can jump from there to the platform with the Auto Destruct button.

Small Ledge Push (video)

Location
In the hallway leading from the theatre room to the concession room.

Requirements
A running and straffing start, steroids makes it simpler.

Description
While walking down this hallway, a small explosion occurs and a crack appears in a wall on the corner. On the right side of this crack, there is a corner which has a ledge small enough to push through. This will warp Duke to the projection room which is mapped above this. If this is not done far enough to the right, Duke will not be below the projection room and will die.

Large Ledge Push (video)

Location
In the projection room.

Requirements
A running and straffing start.

Description
The ledge which the red key sits upon is the proper size for a large ledge push. This will warp Duke back to the hall way between the theatre and the concession room by the crack.

Video

Sequence Break

Location
Outside the door leading into the movie theatre.
Description
From here, Duke can boost off of an enemies head into the window leading to the secret area behind the movie screen or onto the ledge leading to the auto destruct button. Duke can obtain the jet pack to complete the level early. This boost can also be used to reach the ledge which can then allow you to jump directly onto the bridge, and head to the auto destruct button.

In terms of speed, this route to obtain the jet pack for level completion is much slower than using the steroids as mentioned above. This could also be done by the above steroid route, then dropping down into the window. This could be used as a route on a 100s run.

[1-02] Red Light District

Switch from Behind

Location
Blue Key switch.

Description
A toggle switch is raised as the blue key switch is lowered. This toggle switch is used to destroy a building for level progression. The toggle switch can be pushed while ducking from the opposing side of the wall.

This switch can also be accessed by a properly timed and placed Jump/Duck to force your self underneath the blue switch.

Design glitch (passive) (video)

Location
The very end of the level.

Description
At the end of the level Duke is suppose to be trapped inside of a cage while walking towards the Auto Destruct button. This will not trigger if Duke floats over this area using his jet pack. The Auto Destruct button is non-functioning and this serves as no benefit to a speed run.

[1-03] Death Row

Warp

Location
Septic path leading to submarine.

Description
At the only bend in the path, running while standing and strafing left into the obtuse corner will cause Duke to warp into the outside red key area.

Switch from obtuse angle

Location
The switch to lower the electric chair and to open the curtains into the viewing room.

Description
These two switches can be pushed from an obtuse angle. By standing on the ledge leading into the executioners control room blocked by glass, the two switches can be thrown with out breaking the glass.

Sequence Break

Location
The large central room with the two red key doors and the single yellow key door, on the platform level to the two red doors.

Description
By jumping off of a pigs head onto the platform leading into the room with the holographic head, the force fields to the jail cells can be dropped with out obtaining the red key. This door, how ever, is guarded by multiple laser bombs. As seen in the speed run, this can be avoided by using the RPG to detonate them prior to jumping to the platform.

Small Ledge Push (video)

Location
The outside area which contains the red key card.

Requirements
A running and straffing start with steroids.

Description
In the outside area on the right part (facing away from the jail) of the upper deck, Duke can jump to the left most (facing twards the jail) window and ducking push back in. This allows for the red key and the chain of events to normally get to that cell to be skipped.

[1-04] Toxic Dump

Jump/Duck/Jump

Location
The tunnels by the red key pad.

Description
Once the jump/duck/jump glitch is known, this path is rather common sense. This allows for the task of getting the red key to be skipped.

Sequence Break

Location
The ramp way which opens up when you walk twards the red key switch.

Description
With a properly placed running jump off of the top of this ramp way, the conveyor belt area with the red key room is reachable. This is not faster than using the jump/duck/jump glitch by the red key switch, as seen in Kari Kuivalainen's videos.

[1-05] The Abyss

Large Ledge Push (video)

Location
Blue key door.

Requirements
A running and straffing start.

Description
There is a large ledge on the outside portion of this gate. Using the Large Ledge Push this gate can be pushed through with out obtaining the blue key. This can remove about 20 seconds from a speed run. This was the first occurrence of a Large Ledge Push that we discovered and caused our understanding of the glitch.

Video
Please note that the AVI and GIF videos are different.

[1-06] Launch Facility

Sequence Break (video)

Location
The tower with the blue key card

Description
It is possible to jump from the outer platform into the tower through the window. This path allows the button input sequence to unlock the door to be skipped.

Small Ledge Push (video)

Location
The blue key pad.

Requirements
A running and straffing start.

Description
This glitch also causes a rather large sequence break. Normally as the blue key card is entered, the rocket ship will rise, which later needs to be blown up. Since this will lead to where the unrisen rocket ship is, Duke can jump down the hole.
